This 2 hour workshop will instruct the participants on the use of the Google Earth Engine website.
This website allows visualizing and analyzing of satellite imagery from many datasets, mainly Sentinel and Landsat programs.
This site has many advantages such as
- No need to download data, all in the cloud
- Wide variety of ready to use datasets
- Lots of examples and tutorials online
The main disadvantage is the need to work with scripts.
In the workshop, participants will receive an introduction to remote sensing and then the group will run prepared scripts on how to visualize NDVI, time series analysis and more, The instructor will then go over the basic mistakes and will explain every script. Participants will work on their personal laptops during the workshop.
